How to choose the right bathtub

Aare Ringvee, owner of OÜ Vannituba.ee

Many of us have surely faced or will face the question: how can we choose a suitable bathtub? There are so many options that it simply isn’t possible to come to an immediate decision! I hope my 23 years of experience in bath sales will help you out.

If you’ve already made the decision in favour of a bath, the next thing you should think about is what shape the tub should be to fit where it is supposed to – should it have four sides or should you go for a corner bathtub? The next decision to be made is whether to opt for a basic (soaking) bathtub or a tub with air/water jets for massaging action (whirlpool or air bath). It’s also possible to choose between an acrylic bath (a kind of plastic) or a solid stone bath. There are also enamelled metal and cast-iron baths on the market – consult sales staff to learn about the differences between them all.

Next, you should consider the manufacturer. Here, too, there’s a really varied selection and the price range is wide – as odd as it seems, some manufacturers’ soaking bathtubs cost the same as another maker’s whirlpool tub. Always look at who the manufacturer is, what the country of origin is, how long they have sold products in Estonia, who performs warranty repairs and whether spare parts are available. Answering these questions will make it much easier to decide in favour of a given tub.

Vannituba.ee primarily carries a selection of basic and massage tubs made by the Estonian manufacturer Aquator, which have been on the market for 20 years now. Why Aquator? The main reason is definitely quality. The company uses only components from top-of-the-line manufacturers: the acrylic comes from England, structural reinforcement from the US, fibreglass from Finland, metal frame components from Sweden and the massage systems from Austria. Did you see China on that list? A separate mark of quality is the fact that many bathtub manufacturers don’t offer a frame for their baths but rather feet and wall mounts – these are not as stable. All of Aquator’s bathtubs are produced based on the customer’s order and tested at the factory before shipping.

Reliability of supply is another reason. The turnaround for Aquator bathtubs is short: a basic tub takes one week and one with massage jets takes two weeks.

A third reason is the sense of security – as it’s an Estonian manufacturer, there aren’t any problems with the warranty and spare parts.

Last but just as important is the existence of cleaning supplies needed for maintenance. Aquator offers special cleaning products for acrylic baths and massage systems that are always in stock at Vannituba.ee.

Visit our showroom in Tallinn’s Järve Centre and online at www.vannituba.ee, and order online for 10% discount on Aquator baths. Naturally installation and transport can also be ordered from us, and we’ll help to dismantle and haul away an old bathtub or shower stall.

Besides bathtubs, our product selection has many other attractive products, so check out our website www.vannituba.ee or visit our showroom. Shower stalls and doors and walls produced by Lithuanian manufacturer Baltijos Brasta are especially appealing and their measurements can be customized!
